Hassan Sengooba is the Founding Member and Managing Director of Sesil Publishers, where he provides the strategic leadership that drives the organisation's mission of advancing scholarly publishing and expanding access to high-quality academic research. He is passionate about supporting researchers, authors, and institutions through a trusted publishing platform founded on excellence, integrity, and innovation.
In addition to leading Sesil Publishers, Hassan serves as the Electronic Resources Coordinator at Makerere University Business School. His professional experience includes conducting training needs assessments, facilitating workshops for researchers, academic staff, and students, promoting the effective use of electronic resources, and supporting research and academic information literacy within higher education.
Hassan is committed to strengthening scholarly communication by promoting ethical publishing practices, embracing digital innovation, and fostering collaborations within the academic community. Under his leadership, Sesil Publishers continues to provide a credible platform that enhances the visibility, accessibility, and impact of scholarly research both across Africa and internationally.
Sila Too is a Founding Member and Director of Sesil Publishers, where he provides strategic guidance on technology, digital transformation, and innovation. He is passionate about leveraging information technology to strengthen scholarly publishing, improve the discoverability of research, and enhance the digital experience for authors, reviewers, and readers.
Based in Nairobi County, Kenya, Sila is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Silda Enterprise Limited and serves as a System Librarian at Moi University. His professional background combines software engineering, digital library management, and enterprise information systems, giving him a deep understanding of how technology can support research, learning, and knowledge dissemination. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Kenyatta University and is ITIL® Certified.
